Super Berry Smoothie Bowl

Smoothie bowls are very trendy right now and are so easy and quick to prepare.  Simply blend fresh fruit with frozen berries and add any topping that you fancy!  All berries are high in vitamin C, which is important for normal growth and development, immune function and iron absorption.  Vitamin C is an important antioxidant that may prevent or delay the development of certain cancers and cardiovascular disease.

Ingredients

Handful of blueberries, raspberries & strawberries
Handful of frozen mixed berries
400ml unsweetened almond or cashew milk
1 tsp good quality vanilla extract

Different toppings
(all optional)

2 spoonful's of fat free Greek yoghurt 
1 tbsp coconut flakes
1 tbsp pomegranate seeds
1 tbsp chia seeds
1 tbsp roasted chopped hazelnuts
1 tbsp chopped pistachios
1 chopped kiwi
1 tbsp red currants
1 tbsp flaked almonds



To make...
Serves 1
  1. Add the fresh & frozen fruit to your blender
  2. Add the vanilla extract and milk, blend for 2 minutes
  3. Pour into a bowl and stir in the yoghurt (if using) and top with a selection of the toppings above
  4. Serve immediately!
