Mandarin & Orange Sorbet

Making sorbet is super easy and a great way to use up any fruit lurking at the bottom of your fruit bowl.  Mandarins and Oranges work really well together and both contain high levels of vitamin C.

400ml fresh orange & mandarin juice (approx 5 mandarins & 4 oranges)
400ml water
100g golden caster sugar
Peel from 1 orange & 1 mandarin

To make...

Serves 10-12
  1. Add the water, sugar and peel to the saucepan, gently heat and stir until the sugar has completely dissolved, set aside to cool down
  2. Squeeze the juice from the oranges and mandarins until you have approx 400ml
  3. Once the sugar syrup has cooled down, remove the peel and mix in the orange juice
  4. Pour into your freezable container, freeze for 5 hours then remove and break up with a fork
  5. Place back in the freezer for 2-3 hours or until firm
