Fig Cranberry & Maca Energy Bites

Energy bites made with figs, hazelnuts, dried cranberries & super food maca. Maca powder is a great source of many essential vitamins and minerals. It’s claimed that after consuming Maca for a few weeks it can enhance your mood and boost performance & energy.

A very tasty and mood enhancing energy bite!


You will need...

Food processor

140g hazelnuts (not salted)
140g dried figs
140g dried cranberries
1 tsp maca powder
½ tsp ground cinnamon
½ tsp ground ginger
½ tsp ground nutmeg
¼ tsp ground allspice
2 tbsp maple syrup
1 tbsp raw honey
Coverings (optional)
20g freeze dried raspberries (optional)
20g crushed pistachios (optional)
20g chopped toasted hazelnuts (optional)


To make...
15 balls (approx)

  1.  
    Blend the hazelnuts for 1 minute or until finely chopped
  2. Add the figs & cranberries, maca and all of the spices, pulse until combined
  3. Add the maple syrup & honey, pulse until fully combined
  4. Using a teaspoon, scoop up some of the mixture and make into a small ball about the size of a walnut
  5. Continue with the rest of the mixture, you should make approximately 15 balls
  6. Put the your chosen covering on a plate and roll the balls to coat all over
  7. Place in an air-tight container and freeze for 40 minutes
  8. Remove from the freezer and place into the fridge
  9. They will keep for 2-3 weeks in the fridge
  10. Alternatively keep some in the freezer until you need them (up to 3 months)
